Lore turned IP

When we started developing the history of the world this world, we were inspired to create not only major events and eras that would become Modern Gen City, but also characters and fully fleshed out story arcs.
And it became one of many standalone spin-offs within the Frontierverse brand.

The World of Nefthar

A rich, huge world where the Frontier is but one slice of the explorable universe. The goal was to provide context, lore, mythology, culture, historical landmarks and everything one would need to develop their own stories here.
A sandbox that lends itself to multiple storylines, from TTRPG campaigns to multimedia content.

  • Welcome to Edgen, a mythical island where cat people thrived amidst Alpha Crystals, air, and waters. These elements transformed them over time, creating a unique breed known as the CatGens.

Some adventurous CatGens journeyed through the sea, encountering challenges and Creatures of the Deep. Ultimately, seven of them reached the mainland of Iridia, establishing their new home, The Frontier.

  • Iridia was home to clans like ApeGens and BullGens before the CatGens arrived. With their unique Alpha-driven powers, the CatGens were revered, initiating the Era of The Seven Cat Gods. Their city, Catopia, became a melting pot of species.

As mixed-species offspring inherited the CatGens' powers, tensions rose. Nergath, a CatGod leader, saw this as a threat and turned Catopia from a symbol of unity into one of oppression. The CatGens' story shows how power can either unite or divide.

  • One of the Cat Gods, Bhasteet, left to explore The Frontier and came back to find it dominated by Nergath's tyranny, with his Seers enforcing brutal measures like public Catlesseum fights.

Meanwhile, elder MantisGen Prayto's teachings of empathy birthed Praytoism, drawing many followers, including Bhasteet herself.

Threatened by Prayto's influence, Nergath executed him, in what became known as The Silencing. This event sparked widespread outrage, and marked the beginning of the decline of the Cat Gods' dominance.

Anthill Memoirs

A series of choose-your-own-adventure videos made for social media, where the audience would vote through polls for what the main hero, Ant’Aeus, would do to reach his love, Ant’Eena.

It was mostly focused on the InsectGen society, showcasing different characters and facets of this underworld that thrived even under the tyrannical rule of the Cat Gods.

Escape from Sharptooth Valley

A pixel art dialogue-based game telling the story of Bhasteet’s adventures outside of The Frontier.
